Yummy cereal

I can't believe that Landon is old enough to start eating cereal!! It has been funny to see how different he is from Hudson. When Hudson first tasted cereal he cracked up laughing and then gobbled it down, but Landon just spit it out and turned his head. I sure hope he is not going to be picky!!

Hudson's 3rd birthday party

We had Hudson's birthday party a week early since Aunt Beth was in town. His actual birthday is March 27th. Most of you know that Hudson is a fanatic over The Man from Snow River movie. About a year ago, Hudson was searching through our DVD's and came across this classic movie and wanted to watch it since it had a horse on the front. I let him watch the last 10 minutes of the movie and he was hooked. This was also one of my Dad's favorite movies. I made him a horse cake and his 2 cousins, that just moved ito Kingwood, came with their grandparents which are Ben's aunt and uncle. We had a great time grilling hot dogs and hanging out.

Here is Hudson's favorite part of the movie on YouTube:

Easter Weekend

BB and RoRo came in for the weekend and we all had so much fun together! We read the Easter story with Hudson and taught him to say "He is Risen!"

Aunt Beth is Here!!

Beth, Ben's sister, spent her Spring Break with us and we have had so much fun! We went to Chinatown one day and got some cool Chanel sunglasses, went to see Horton Hears a Who and enjoyed a day at Ben's office and the Galleria.

The Boys

The boys love to bounce on Daddy's knees and pretend they are riding horses. :)
My sweet boys!!

Sacrifice

While I was nursing Landon, an old Little House on the Prairie was on. Laura and Mary were very young and they had to read their essays in front of the class and parents. Mary wrote about her Pa and all the hard work he had done on their house and Laura wrote about her Ma and how she was always sacrificing what she wanted for her kids. Ma had bought some expensive material to make a dress for herself, but instead she made dresses for the girls. This episode brought me to tears as I remembered how much my parents have done for me. I specifically remember running for student council secretary in the 4th grade. We were looking for a new house and the one that we had our eye on would mean that I would have to change schools. My mom got me a new pink dress and both parents pitched in to help me make some neat posters for my campaign. My dad helped me write my speech. We still have my campaign posters in the attic at my parent's house. My dad told me that if I won we wouldn't move so that I could be student council secretary. Unfortunately, I didn't win and we moved to the house that my mom still lives in. That meant so much to me that my dad cared that much about my desires for my life at the tender age of 9. I miss him so much and wish he could wrap his arms around me. Mom and Dad were true examples of unconditional love and sacrifice.

The Giraffe Place

Landon's first visit to the Giraffe Place.

I forgot to post these pictures from our trip to Tyler. Whenever we go home, we have to make a stop at "The Giraffe Place" as Hudson calls it. There is a big giraffe that is outside of the museum which is why he calls it the Giraffe Place. It is actually the Brookshire's Wildlife Museum. Brookshire's is the name of a prominent family in Tyler that own a chain of grocery stores in Texas and Louisiana. They have a free wildlife museum and playground that Hudson loves to go to. My Dad first took Hudson there about 1 1/2 years ago and Ben has kept the tradition alive.

Weekend with RoRo

Robyn and her roommate, Nicole, came in for the Houston Rodeo and the Martina McBride concert. They stayed with us Saturday and headed back to College Station on Sunday. As you can tell, Hudson monopolized their time with lots of playing!! After the concert, the girls stayed with the boys so that Ben and I could go out for coffee. RoRo and Hudson on a search for ladybugs. :)

Chef Daddy :)

Ben loves Fogo de Chao's cheese bread. He went online to try and find the recipe, but it had some unique ingredients. So he went to a Brazilian market down the street from his office and found the cheese bread mix. He made it for breakfast Saturday morning with eggs. Who knew he was so passionate about cooking!! :)
Hudson thought Daddy did a great job and gobbled the cheese bread up!
On a side note, Ben became obsessed with the cheese bread when he took me to Fogo de Chao for my 30th bday. That was before I was blogging so here is a recap. Ben's mom was still in town from Thanksgiving and kept the boys for us so Ben could take me out for my big day. This restaurant is definitely an experience. It has an amazing salad bar and the waiters bring you whatever meat you want. Also, for my Bday my mom got me this beautiful James Avery ring called the Wrap Around. My dad was a big believer in hugs so this ring is symbolic of him wrapping his arm around me!
Ben and I before our first night out since Landon was born. I can't believe I'm 30!!

Bathtime with Daddy

Hudson was taking a bath when Ben got home one night. He thought it would be fun if Daddy joined in on the fun, so Ben jumped in and put him in a headlock!!

Great Grands

One of the many joys of having family live close by is that you get to see them often. Whenever we are in Tyler we try and make the rounds to see everyone. Nanny drove in from Quitman, an hour north of Tyler, and stayed the night with us. She had so much fun watching the boys play!

Grandmommy and Aunt Vicki drove in from Dallas and spent the whole day with us. Hudson loves to play with Aunt Vicki and he tries to wear her out, but she has a lot of spunk!

At the Park with BB

Hudson is using his muscles to scale the rock!! Granddad would be proud. :)

Fun at BB's

We went my Mom's 2 weeks ago for my close friend, Carissa's paren'ts 35th anniversary party. We stayed several days and it was such a treat for me. Mom lets me sleep while she takes care of the boys and makes me coffee and breakfast - Thanks!!! Yes, as you can see Hudson thought it would be fun to climb into the crib and hang out with Landon. :)

Hudson always gets so excited when he gets to see Uncle Lanny. They wrestle, read books and just have fun.
