Christmastime

Here are a few pics of the house decorated for Christmas. We didn't much to the outside, but at least the candles add something. :)

Football hopefulls

Life with 2 boys is nonstop fun! Hudson decided that it was time Landon learned how to play football. Most 2 month olds don't have footbal playing abilities, but my boys are special. :) Not only can he catch a football with his feet, but he does so while sitting in his bouncy seat.

Shameless :)

Today has been another eventful morning in our household. Just as I had finally gotten everyone ready to run an errand our builder came to do some touch ups. I was busy with him when I realized a foul smell coming from Hudson - yes he had pooped in his big boy underwear! Hoping that none of the men smelled anything I told Hudson to go to my bathroom. Next thing I know he comes out with just his snowman pajama top and no underwear - does he have no shame. :) The builder laughs and I quickly head to the bathroom where I find pee on the floor but he did manage to put his dirty underwear in the toilet. Ah, the joys of motherhood!!

Hudson William and Landon Baker

Ben and I have two precious boys. Hudson is 2 1/2 and very active. He loves to play guitar, the drums and pretend like he is Jim Craig from the Man From Snowy River! He is delightful, but a handful. :) Landon is 2 months old and very laid back. He smiles alot and is a great sleeper. Here are some pics of my cute kids:

The journey

Many of you have followed my family's journey over the last 2 years, but for those of you that don't know let me briefly share with you. My Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer on October 18, 2005. My Dad was in great shape and healthy, but that day he was driving to Dallas and had a gran mal seizure on I-20. He went through surgery, radiation and chemo. The statistics were very grim. The doctors told us that 1 % of patients live past 2 years. I prayed that Daddy would be an exception to that rule. He was doing great until March 2007 when the tumor came back with a vengenace. He entered into the presence of the Lord on June 11. These last 2 years have been the hardest years of my life. My Dad was only 54 and letting him go was very difficult, but I had to surrender him to the Lord. Now my mom, brother and sister are learning how to deal with his loss. There are days when I think about him and I'm okay and other days when I can't seem to stop crying. I have to constantly remind myself that the Lord had a reason and that He is sovereign in all that He does. He will be faithful to see me through this!

The urge to write

I have finally joined the world of bloggers! I thoroughly enjoy reading about everyone elses day to day life, but didn't think that I would have time to do the same. Tonight Ben had to work late so Hudson and I made pancakes together and enjoyed eating dinner just the 2 of us. As I was sitting there beside my sweet 2 1/2 year old I realized that this is what it is all about. I didn't get anything done today, but I spent quality time with him and hopefully he will always know that his Mommy is there for him. At that moment, I felt the urge to write about all the goings and comings of my life. Motherhood is such a beautiful picture of unconditional love just like Christ's love for His children.
