Sprinkler Fun!

Landon was wishing he could jump in the water!

Hudson loved turning his "jumping thing" into a water slide!!

Meeting in the Middle - Dibol, TX

Mom and Robyn kept the boys while we were gone - THANK YOU!!. They did great and loved being at BB's house!! I met them in the middle on Monday afternoon. Dibol has a train museum and so met there and Hudson loved playing on the train and pretending he was Mr. Conductor.

Capitol Hill Baptist

On Sunday we went to Capitol Hill Baptist. The church started in 1878 and the building was built in 1911. The pastor is Mark Dever which is a man that Ben admires and reads his books. He has a ministry called 9Marks and has written a book called 9 Marks of a Healthy Church. He is also involved with a conference called Together for the Gospel which Ben went to in April. It is a conference led by 4 pastors all form different denominations.

The worship included a guitar and piano and 600+ people praising God. We sang some wonderful old hymns that truly touched my heart. It was beautiful to hear that many voices singing "It is Well with My Soul". Tears filled my eyes as I thought about Dad and how he prayed that he was ready to meet the Lord and that he is truly well for he is in the presence of the Almighty!

Fashion over comfort - never again!! :)

This was my first company trip and I was looking forward to not looking like a mommy! :) I went shopping and got some new clothes and some cute shoes. I didn't want to bring my tennis shoes, because I wanted to look cute but I learned a very valuable lesson - Comfort is Everything!! By Friday afternoon, I had 4 blisters on my feet and I was ready to throw my shoes away. Here is a classic Friends episode about Monica and her boots:

Smithsonian Air and Space Museum

Structure rented the entire Air and Space Musem out Friday night for the company dinner. We got to do a flight simulator which was wild and see an IMAX.

Monuments and Alexandria

On Friday afternoon, we headed to the National Mall and enjoyed walking around and looking at all of the monuments. I went to DC in the 8th grade and Ben has been there several times, but there were 2 new memorial that were just recently built that we enjoyed seeing. On Saturday, we took the water taxi (a boat that takes you from the hotel across the harbor)to Alexandria, VA

Structure Trade Show

We got to DC on Thursday and Friday morning the company had a trade show. Each department in the company had a booth set up so that people could walk around and learn more about the company. I really enjoyed listening to presentations and getting lots of free stuff to pass on to Hudson. :)

A Kidless Weekend in DC - Yahoo!!

Ben's company, Structure, has 2 trips a year. The Spring trip was in DC. We stayed at the brand new Gaylord National just outside of DC. We enjoyed being with one another and I enjoyed getting to know more about his work.

Fort McLain

Hudson was so excited when he Ben got back from his trip. That weekend he and Daddy made a cool fort with the couch pillows. :)

Just Like Daddy :)

A couple of weeks ago, Ben had to go out of town. He was working on his laptop to get ready for a presentation and Hudson decided that he needed to help. He has a play computer and he went and got it and worked on it just like Daddy!!

My Texture Baby :)

Landon is showing signs of pickiness - ugh!! You would think with his laid back personality he wouldn't care how smooth his food is, but that is not the case. My food processor has been broken so I was buying baby food. Gerber's baby food is unbelievably smooth so when I got a new food processor and started making my own Landon noticed a difference. I am hoping that this is just a phase, because I love all of the variety you can make when you make your own baby food. I am hoping to experiment and find new ways to make my baby food super smooth.

Gig 'em Aggies

We went to College Station last weekend for Robyn's birthday and to see her Art of Worship performance. She is the president for a Christian dance company at A&M called CHARA. Their website is http://chara.tamu.edu/ and if you want to watch last year's Art of Worship go to http://youtube.com/praisedancing. Last year we all went including Daddy, but Ben was not able to make it. Robyn did a great job, but it was hard since this was Daddy's first dance recital that he had missed since I was in the 8th grade - 17 years worth of dancing between Robyn and I. Dad was such a great dancer dad! He watched us practice and was truly interested in what we were learning in the area of dance. He was always such a big help when it came to setting up and making sets as well as tearring everything down. Rick and Ben followed in his footsteps and helped Robyn tear down everything. Ben got his first taste of what it is like to be in the dancing world. If the Lord allows us to have a girl and she is interested in dance he will make a great stage Dad! :)

Apple Tree School Open House

Hudson's Mother's Day Out program had their Open House. I couldn't believe how big Hudson looked in his classroom and that this was the first of years of Open Houses. :)
Hudson's teacher, Mrs. Lee

Roommates

My childhood friend, Carissa, lives in Pearland which is another suburb of Houston. They just sold their home and are moving inside Houston city limits. They had 5 days in between the closings of their 2 houses so they moved in with us - she and her husband, Adam whom I have known since I was 4, and their daughters Lillian 3 and Evelyn 7months.

The Boys!

Fun at the Beach

We had a fun family day at Galveston a few Saturdays ago. The plan was to check out the city and we would come back another day to really make it a beach day. :)
