Well, I am so behind on my blogging and I'm very sorry. :( So let me back track and get everyone up to speed.
The week before Christmas Hudson was out of school and I was preparing for Ben's family to be staying with us. My sweet mom wanted to help and so she met me in the middle on Dec 15th and took the boys for the whole week - Yipee!! I was able to focus on what needed to be done and Ben and I were able to go on 2 dates and see a movie. Ben's sister, Beth, flew that Thursday night and then we all drove to Arlington to drop Beth off at Aunt Kaye's house (Ben's aunt) and we continued to Duncanville (suburb of Dallas) where we met my mom and the boys at my cousin's rehearsal dinner. We all stayed the night at my Grandmommy's until Sunday. Sunday we met up with Ben's parents, who were at Aunt Kayes' house, and all drove back to Houston. Jordan flew in Wednesday morning after having to sleep in the Tulsa airport because his plane was cancelled due to weather. We went to Christmas Eve service and then back home to have our annual Christmas eve dinner which is Shrimp bisque and cheddar biscuits - yum! After the boys got in their pj's, we turned all the lights off except the Christmas tree and Ben read the Christmas story. Christmas morning the boys were up early ready to jump into the presents. I was able to hold them off long enough to get the quiche in the oven. We were blessed by all of the gift giving. Ben and I usually just do stockings, but this year he surprised me with an Ipod Nano and a JBL docking station. I immediately thought of Daddy and how he would surprise mom with a gift even though they weren't supposed to do gifts. I always thought that was neat coming from a daughter's standpoint. The boys got lots of great stuff and we had a terrific time as a family! Friday we had planned on going to the planetarium to see the Bethlehem star exhibit, but the museum district was insanely busy and we couldn't find parking anywhere so we drove around some neat areas and then went to see The Tale of Desperaux. The movie was about a mouse with big ears who was a gentleman. :) The boys loved it, especially the fact that they got to eat LOTS of popcorn. Saturday we had Charles's (aka Papas) sister and her family over. Ben's cousin Mark is a pastor in Kingwood and so everyone had been at their house for the holidays and so they came to hang out with us that Saturday. Sunday we went to church, showed them Ben's office and then shopping at the Galleria. Joy, Charles and Jordan left Monday morning. We took Beth to the Houston outlets mid morning and then she flew out Monday afternoon. Then Robyn came into town Saturday for a wedding and stayed with us until Monday. Needless to say we have had lots of family fun lately!! To check out all of the great pics go to http://picasaweb.google.com/brothermclain
