As most of you know Hudson loves horses. He has been riding on our backs for over a year and does a good job of staying on. Well, last weekend there was a PBS special about wild horses in Montana. Ben's grandmother lives in Montana and we are going there the first week of September. Anyways, Hudson loved watching the special and then wanted Ben and I to be the wild horses. I told Hudson that he could ride my back to the bathroom and then he had to brush teeth and go to bed. The hallway upstairs is open and there are wrought iron slats, columns and one wooden column alongside the hallway. Well the horse rider fell off the horse and into the wooden column and cut the side of his head. Thankfully there is an urgent care not too far from our house. Hudson was a real trooper and only cried right after the fall. He was great with the doctor until they got ready to put the staple in. Yes, you heard right they put a staple in my baby's head and didn't even numb it! Apparently the numbing shot hurts worse than the staple so they just don't do it. I told Hudson that he looked like Granddad, since my Dad had about 15 staples in his head after the tumor surgery, and he said he needed to call Granddad and tell him. :)

Hudson wanted a sucker for his special treat to make his head feel better. :) Here he is eating his sucker while keeping an ice pack on his head.

What a brave boy that Hudson is!
Seriously, a staple??!! That sounds so painful!! Wow, he IS brave!
I cringed when I read about them having to put a staple in his head! Poor Hudson...(& poor Mommy!!) Yikes! Hopefully he is on the mend! :)
Hudson is so tough! Glad to know he's okay. Someday he and Will can brag about their staple scars :)
