Fun at the Home Depot
Today we went to the Home Depot to get some paint. We are painting the playroom and as soon as it is done I will post pictures. The first order of business was to ride the John Deere tractors and then head to the paint department. There was a line for paint so we were waiting when Hudson spotted some red plastic paint pourers that you screw onto your paint can. He decided that they would make a great hat so he got one for him and one for me. He made me wear the hat and a lady walked by and chuckled. :) Then he discovered that paint stirrers and decided they would make great drumsticks. The counter was steel and so he drummed on the counter which made a nice noise. :) He then told me to sing so I hummed along to which he told me "No Mommy sing Jesus Loves Me". So in the middle of Home Depot we had a singin' that would rival the best worship leaders - just kidding!

Venting
Yesterday marks 10 months that Daddy went to be with the Lord. Some days it seems like forever since I've seen him and other days I expect him to answer the phone when I call and say "Hey Sissi Babe!" Just when I think I'm doing well with the healing process, I'll have a week like this past one. This week I've seemed to be emotional and tears came quickly. We had small group on Tuesday night and a couple of us shared our testimonies. I volunteered thinking I could handle it, but instead I balled my eyes out. I know that it is all for God's glory, but sometimes I just want to ask WHY. Why do I have to be without a Daddy, Hudson and Landon are without their Granddad and my mom is without her beloved - bottom line is that God is sovereign and I HAVE to trust in His plan.
My mom is attending her first Widows Banquet at church this Sunday and when she told me that I could hardly speak because tears were running down my face. Both she and I are not fans of the word widow. When you hear widow you think of an elderly lady and she is sure not that. I am on a quest to find a better word maybe the same word but in another language.
To be honest, throughout the last 10 months I have not been where I need to be spiritually. Part of that is also that my day is consumed with the boys, but that should be no excuse. On Friday, Hudson was at school and it was just Landon and I. On our way home I felt an excitement to spend time with God that I hadn't felt in awhile. I spent some time listening to worship music and praising Him through song. He is an Almight, Sovereign God who loves me and had a specific reason for Daddy's death. There is a saying that says, "When you can't trace His hand you can trust His heart" and that is what you have to do when faced with trials. I pray that I will embrace this trial and allow God to teach and mold me in the process.

Cereal and High Fives
Hudson is such a great helper with Landon. Today he insisted on feeding him. :)
While Landon was having Pack n Play time, Hudson decided he should join in on the fun. He thought he would teach him how to give high fives. He is so anxious for Landon to be old enough so that he can really play with him!!

Reminiscing
This past Thursday was Hudson's 3rd birthday. He got to take cupcakes to school this past Friday and he helped put the sprinkles on.
I can't believe it has been 3 years already. Hudson is such a delight and raising him has taught me about myself and God's love for His children.
Hudson William was born on Easter morning 2005. I was surrounded by my family and Ben's. The day that I went into labor my dad, mom and sister went to the Plaza (in Kansas City) and walked around hoping that I would go into labor. Ben also made me eat tons of salsa which also helped. :) That night Ben, my dad and sister watched the college basketball games and my mom and I prepared for Hudson. At around 7:00pm the contractions started. They were pretty irregular and after each contraction I would make sure that everyone knew since they were glued to the March Madness basketball games. :) My mom and I were putting together a star table for Hudson's room and in between commercials my dad would help. It was such a special time to be surrounded by my family as we prepared for Hudson's big moment. After 45 minutes, the contractions were coming every 2 minutes and I called the doctor. We got to the hospital at 10:00pm and by 11:30 I got the epidural. I was so glad that I got the medicine, because I was able to enjoy everyone who was camping out waiting for the first grandchild. My dad was hanging out in the room with us when I told Ben that I could feel Hudson coming. My dad said, "Well, that is my cue to leave" :) ! Ben got the nurse and she couldn't believe it, but I was already crowning. They had to go wake the doctor up, because he had been on call all night. A little after 2:00am my precious baby boy was born. I am so thankful for him and I look forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do in his life.
