Knight Hudson - 5th bday party

Hudson had a knight birthday party and it was so much fun! When we had talked about this theme, I told him that we were only inviting boys this year. He kept saying how we needed girls so that the boys could save the princesses. :) I found knight plates, knight napkins, party bag favors, and game ideas online. It is amazing what you can find on the Internet! This was the first year that I had games planned for a birthday party. I hadn't felt like my kids were ready for structured games, at a party, until now.

When the kids arrived Hudson greeted them in his Armor of God suit and then they all got started on decorating their shields. I bought gray foam sheets and cut them out like shields and then hot glued a strip on the back. I bought a swimming noodle and cut it in half for the boys to joust with. We then had a jousting tournament that was loads of fun. We had Chick Fil A nuggets, fruit on skewers and chips for lunch. Then the boys watched a little video about the Armor of God. Then it was time to slay the dragon - a pinata. After that we did cake and presents. I made the cake in the shape of a shield. I printed off a picture of a roaring lion, like the kind on shields, put wax paper on top and piped on chocolate. Then put it in the freezer, took it out, gently pulled the wax off and placed it in the middle of the cake. I must say of all the cakes I've made this was the easiest one and I actually finished it the night before. :) For party favors, the kids got swords, the shields they made and a baggy with sword cookies, knight tattoos and an Armor of God coloring sheet.

Easter 2010

Easter weekend we had my brother, sis in law, BB and RoRo in town for Hudson's bday party. My brother and his wife, Katie, are expecting their first in August. Hudson used birthday money to buy a guitar so Uncle Rick brought his guitar for them to a have a jam session. :)

Girls Night Out

The girls in our fellowship group got together for a spa night. We had so much fun pampering ourself and pigging out! One of the ladies, Michelle, hosted it at her house and had different stations set up for pampering. Everyone truly enjoyed the fellowship and relaxation!

Sweet Colson

Colson has been such a sweet addition to our family. He goes with the flow! The boys are constantly playing him, in his face, and Landon has his moments where he isn't nice to him :) and through it all Colson just smiles. At 2 months he was 23 3/4in long and 13lb 6.8oz. So far it looks like he is going to keep his blue eyes!

Cousin Woody the Roper

My mom's 1st cousin, Woody, is a true cowboy. He has been roping for years and has won lots of tournaments. He lives on lots of land with cattle and horses. While we were in Quitman visiting family we drove over to his farm. The boys had so much fun!

Outdoor Boys

My family has always been the outdoor type. Growing up we would go camping, help mom and dad outside, and just enjoy nature. I am so thankful that my boys love to be outside! My mom has a small piece of land that the house is on so the boys play outside nonstop. The kids love when Uncle Lanny comes over and plays with them. Hudson has a hole that he has been working on for some time now. My mom doesn't fill it in so every time Hudson comes he digs a little more. :)
